2003 - Fort Gorges
This masonry fort, begun in 1858, was armed during the Civil War and the Spanish-American War and was used to store submarine mines during World War I. It was named after one of the earliest proprietors of Maine, Sir Fernando Gorges, and is now owned by the city.
